Energy crises are one of the major issues of Pakistan since past few years. The Government of Pakistan is finding out different ways and taking measurements to solve the issue. But private sector is also playing its role in giving a helpful hand to this issue as China Mobile Communication Corporation is considering introducing solar power technology in Pakistan for electrifying cellular base stations of its subsidiary China Mobile Pakistan.
Wang Jianzhou, the company Chief Executive said:
“Use of solar power technology was also part of the Green Action Plan of the company aimed at reducing pollution by emitting less carbon and consuming less energy. We think that reducing hazardous emissions is an important goal of our company.”
The CMCC chief said power crisis was one of the major hurdles in smooth functioning and growth of cellular phone companies in Pakistan where cell stations had to be equipped with electricity generators at all times, which increased operating costs. He cited higher taxes, high operating costs and import duties on equipment purchase as other major challenges for the cell phone operators in an environment where profit margins had been narrowing due to stiff competition.
China Mobile Pakistan has already built 4,500 base stations to widen it network and providing cellular phone services to its 6.5 million subscribers at 3,500 locations in the four provinces, Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir. Now they are planning to equip these stations (B.T.S) in Pakistan with solar energy.
China Mobile Pakistan would further invest US$500 million by the end of the current year to propel growth of its cellular phone service Zong, which was providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs. They said:
“So far the performance of Zong is in line with our expectations and we will do more to boost its output.”
To another question, he said CMCC had obtained this year a license for offering hi-tech 3G (third generation) services to its subscribers in China. However, at present market and business conditions in Pakistan were not favorable to introduce such a state-of-the-art service there.
Let’s wait and see when China Mobile seems the Pakistani market favorable to introduce 3G (third generation) state-of-the-art service.

yea load shedding is one of the major issue of pakistan now-a-days and it’s a good thing which private sector is doing, although its better for the company indeed and for the users too is they give cheep rates…
nice,i think its gonna work for pakistan,
keep writing useful blogs,thx junaid
Solar Power is so cool. it is clean and renewable energy. when the cost of solar panels goes down, i think every home should be owning a mini solar power station.
the cost of Solar Cells for Solar Power utilization has been decreasing over the past years. pretty soon, solar energy would be a more viable alternative than fossil fuels,–
this is the high time to use solar energy in pakistan..proper marketing awareness n production is required
Solar power the only and the lonely hope
of all pakistanees in present and future
circumstances.
tell me about cost of one solar panel and also cost of 3500w
Solar Energy is one of the best sources of clean and green electricity. I think that we should build more efficient solar thermal power plants and solar cells. frequently. :
i m great fan of solor technology & a good for my pakistan to overcome energy crices.
This could be a very big help to the Pakistani government. Shortage of electricity in the country will be replenish.
DEAR SIR
I want to know about your services in Pakistan of solar cell , its price .i want to purchase a no.of solar cell to implement large scale project in my country with your services if you like to provide.
Thanks!!!!!!!
I am happy I stumbled upon your web site on bing. Thanks for the sensible critique. My wife and i ended up being just preparing to study about it. I will be thrilled to see this sort of great details currently being shared freely out there.
