Fraudulent Managment badly hits Islamabad Music Scene

Its been more than six months that all the musical activities in Islamabad are being ruined due to certain reasons. May it be the payment issues, mismanagement or whatever the only one who is suffering is the audience. We remember the eP concert where the band didn’t showed up due to the unresolved payment issues, a couple of months back Noori also canceled their concert in Islamabad due to the payment issues.

There are certain Event Management companies working in Islamabad which are playing with the bands and other promotional persons for the sake of money. We have witnessed that the sponsorship money given by different companies were dissolved by the ‘Innovators’ which is another gig organizing company and has recently conducted a Battle of Bands for Islamabad underground bands. The poor management disappointed the audience there as well. Half of the invited bands didn’t showed up, there were electricity issues, the generator was not working.

The organizers had announced that the winners will get a chance to  perform in ARY television show. A music video of any song by the winning band was also promised to be recorded. But nothing such happened, even the name of winning band is not yet announced (and we don’t see any chances in the near future). The drum-kit was hired on a rent of Rs. 10,000 for the whole show, but they didn’t pay a single penny to Saqib ( A famous drummer in Islamabad, he is also the owner of the drumkit). The organizers were supposed to pay ‘Zeher the Band’ for performing in the concert but no payments were made and they ran away with their pockets heavy.

Some electricity issues were witnessed in the recent Atif Aslam’s concert as well. After the eP concert incident and the events that happened in the recent Noori gig in PNCA, Pakiology advises the bands to be careful before dealing with ‘certain’ companies. And it’s better to deal in cash and by not getting shot by their Fake Cheque Schemes.
