Ramadan outside Pakistan

You probably thinking well of course YES Ramadan is same there too but you may be wrong. Ramadan is done differently across various continents. The differences may depend on the time length, the environment or maybe just the weather.

Dates

Well, as an individual living away from Pakistan, our fasting period is somewhat different. With the difference of the sighting of the moon (which is normally one day before Pakistan’s sighting), the Ramadan period starts quite earlier. This year sehri will start from around 4am and iftari will be around 8:3opm. Also, here you can hardly call it summer, it is so cold. Never having fasted in Pakistan, I can only imagine how hard it might be over there with the constant warm weather and the thirst.

Personally,

“I love Ramadan. Waking up in the morning and having breakfast all together as a family feels nice, opening the fast with a date, increasing your insight into Islam, having the motivation to complete the fast is all what Ramadan is about. Today was my first fast, and I can tell you that I definitely love the whole experience over again, there is just something about Ramadan that makes you feel warm inside. It brings you closer to your family and your religion, which is a true blessing.”

Ramadan may be affected by different factors to all individuals living around the world, but one thing that is the same, is that we are all doing this for Allah.
