Tourists to have Double-Decker bus service in Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning to launch an exclusive Double-Decker bus service for tourists in the capital city. The bus service will be used by the local and foreign tourists for visiting the scenic view points of Islamabad as reported by the Daily Times. The service will be the first in the country and is expected to attract a large number of commuters.

The service will be launched for all the beautiful view-points as said by a senior CDA member, he said:

We are deliberating to initiate a bus service for the tourists who would be able to visit all attractions of the Federal Capital in a double-decker bus.

Currently there is no public transport for the most-tourist-loving-places such as Daman-e-Koh, Pir Suhawa and Shakar Parian which means the visitors either visit there in their own cars or they hire rent-a-car cabs. The double-decker service will give the tourists a chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the green city in relativly cheaper rates and with highly skilled driver-cum-guides.

The project is currently in its initial phase and the CDA will soon announce the tender notice for hiring the interested local and/or multinational firms.

I wish CDA could also think about plying public transport for poor and lower middle class commuters.
