Are we free to say?

We are one nation because we share common beliefs, culture language and ethnic origin. Our ideology somewhat 63 years ago was to have a separate homeland where we can practice our beliefs, Islamic values and culture. We wanted a land where we can stand up and say that we are free as a nation. But question arises that are we really independent? We all say that we are independent people of independent country. Our country is not just a piece of land but it’s our identity. But still we can’t raise our voice for freedom. Every single voice is forced down by our so called government. As said by a French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau that “Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains”.

Our country is facing countless problems and issues like poverty, bad governess, terrorism, corruption and above all load shedding.  In 21st century where every country is achieving different goals here our public is suffering with load shedding and other problems like this. Schools, colleges, industries and many other government and private sectors are suffering this dilemma. Government announced that there will be no light after 8pm in every market or area. People are using generators at night for their benefit. On the other hand those who don’t have this generator facility can just shut their shutters down. No street lights are on at night and we say this power savings. For God sake is this power saving that you are unable to provide electricity in our homes. Load shedding is continued beside the fact that there are complete black outs at night.

This is not just the issue, if some group of people protest against all this they are being smacked by our police who is supposed to help people. Our government justifies their orders by saying that it is for the benefit of our Pakistan. But they are blind to see that it is creating more problems for our country. Gas load shedding is a new development of our country. People are being killed in bomb blasts and other terrorist attack but there is no one to take precautionary measures about it. We are not safe in our own homes. Every news channel is full of all these attacks and people sufferings are being dramatized.

When will we be able to enjoy the electricity or else we start using those “laltains” (emergency lights) or candles which we used many years ago? Will our country regain its identity? When we will completely feel saved from all terrorist attacks? Whether we will become the nation that Allama Iqbal dreamed of? These all questions are unanswered and we are in search of their answers. Hope so we will come up with some solutions for our problems because we can’t just sit quite and let our country to go down.
