The fate of Margalla Towers
August 1st, 2009
Unusual situations raise many questions in one’s mind that why this happened. One such question rose in every mind after the earth quake that struck Pakistan on 8th October, 2005 leaving approximately 75000 dead and as many as 106,000 received injuries. The earthquake that registered a moment magnitude of 7.6 Richter scale started at 8:53 AM and lasted for approximately 6 minutes. Role of our Police in Long March
March 14th, 2009
Police arresting a social worker
Many of us know that in the past couple of days the Police has been a lot active in arresting lawyers and some political activists throughout the country and for this they are raiding heavily everywhere from the houses of the innocent people to the rallies of the lawyers.
Moreover, Code of Criminal Procedure is also functional frankly all over the country. Due to this code, the district government can issue an order to police in the public interest which can then lead into a ban of public demonstration of four or more people.
The basic purpose of taking these people into custody is to stop the Long March which is already in motion since March 12th starting from Karachi and reaching to its decisive destination in Islamabad. But the role of police is so pathetic that they don’t even care of the lady workers and the respected political figures. » Read more: Role of our Police in Long March
