Benazir and Democracy has won the Certificate of Merit under the category of Documentary on History and Biography in Chicago Film festival held in Hugo television awards. The documentary was produced by Pakistani TV channel Samaa TV.
The documentary is based on the life of former Pakistani Prime Minister Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. It was aired on December 27, 2008, the first death anniversary on Ms Bhutto. The documentry overviews the future of democracy after the assasination of the great leader, Ms Bhutto.
Hugo Television Awards aims to enlighten the creative minds behind TV commercials, documentaries and interactive plays. This year’s award ceremony was the 45th anniversary of Hugo Television Awards. These awards take place every year.

Wednesday evening saw Pakistani feature film Khuda Kay Liye winning the hearts of people gathered for the Second Asian Film Festival at Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah. The film received massive appreciation from nationals of all the 14 participating countries.
Directed, Produced and Written by Shoaib Mansoor, Khuda Kay Liye is considered to be one of the best Pakistani Movies ever produced. After being released in Pakistani cinemas on 20th July, 2007, the movie has seen success in the United States, United Kingdom, Emirates and India.
